Everyone thought these would be permanently discontinued. They've been brought back! But if people don't buy them, they're going to not produce them anymore. For some reason the 86-7 versions are on hold due to trouble with the fabricator's tooling. There's a chance they may never come if the 88-9's don't pick up.

Roll will sell these to you for $249 - a rate higher than they charge for their other pegs. However I can get them to you for $50 less ($199 for the math challenged, plus $10 shipping)! You don't have an excuse not to pick up a pair of these ride changing pegs. When I bolted on my first pair several years ago, for the money I felt they might be the single best upgrade I made for my ride.

Here's the thread in the forum with previous discussion and status:
Roll Pegs are back

Roll is currently out of stock on the pegs. It will be 2-3 weeks until the new ones are ready. I thought they were going to place the re-order a few weeks ago, but apparently haven't. Anyway, that's the timeframe from today if you need those pegs.

Kind of unbelievably, they won't have the pegs ready till end of January is the latest I got on the 88-9 pegs. Not sure what happened, but that's the latest date.

yes it is unbelievable. its not like they never made these or any other peg before. still pissed that they had "production" issues making the 86/87 pegs. how much you wanna bet that this will be the last batch of 250r pegs. its not like the first batch flew off the shelves.

Yea, they're not motivated about the 86-7 pegs for sure. Production they say takes 4-6 weeks though, so apparently it's not too far off, but I remember them saying they were going to start the order before they ran out of inventory... but they didn't... I don't think it will be the last batch. The reason they went out of production before was because they changed manufacturing processes or tooling or something and weren't sure if it would be worth it with the 450's being marketed.

Paige called me and said we're looking at 2 weeks for casting to finish, then another week for powdercoat - so 3 more weeks. I'm baffled by how long this has taken seeing as how they told me they were going to place the order in November. I think they just waited till the last minute is my guess...

I got Doug on the phone today. He says he's hoping for no more than a week until the next batch is done. You guys checking in may also be interested to know that the tool he had for the 86-7 pegs was basically destroyed and it costs him about $3500 to make another. He said he would look into the situation again to see what the options are. So that's good news potentially!

Also, he says the price will have to stay the same at 239 (retail). He says the price of materials has gone up, labor up, etc, but he's tried to keep the cost to consumers down by eliminating the polishing. That's the scoop on that!

Hopefully something will be back up soon for you guys who've been told they're on hold.

These pegs even with stiff boots on a are a really nice improvement that's really easy to appreciate. I've always thought these pegs are one of best upgrades you can do if you ride aggressively.

jason: it's a really shame that doug will not pony up the cash to make the 86/87 pegs. hell it can be a business right off. if you want........ask him about getting the required tooling made elswhere. here in cleveland ohio their is practically a machine shop on every block. i'm sure i could get the tooling made alot cheaper. see if doug wants to contact me if he is interested. my dad is a machinist and i'm an engineering tech by trade. i've got alot of friends in the machining industry (turning, milling, grinding both manual and cnc). theres even two casting plants located minutes away. i'm sure i can make this work if doug is interested. contact me by email if you like: joseph.ivanac@att.net
thanks

You know what came to mind when I read your post is why don't you make some yourself and sell them? You could sell them right here if you wanted to. They can't be that hard to copy. In reality you just need a bracket that would fit the 88-9 pegs to the 86-7 frame. I would think that would be the way to go. Buy the later model pegs and then buy your bracket to mount them. If that doesn't sound good, contact Doug directly, position yourself and strike a deal with him that cuts you in on the sales. What do you think??

Guys, got a call from Roll today. Something went awry at the casters and they are still not painted. She thought another week maybe...

FINALLY - they're in and done. The problem this time is there are only 9 left after fulfilling their own back order... man... I sent some emails, but can't remember all who inquired over the last few months.

If you've been waiting, now's the time to grab a set in case there's another dry spell. 951-595-7189

Doug said he would check into the tooling again. I don't know what will come of it. If you could get him personally on the phone you'd get the best estimate though.
